Seminar for the Recovery and Learning of Amazonian Traditional Medicine

At the initiative of our healer, Edgardo Tuanama, in 2025 we launched a new project aimed at revitalizing and transmitting traditional knowledge of Amazonian medicinal plants and the preparation of natural remedies, directed at young people from the San José de Sisa area in the San Martín region.

At the beginning of July, during an intensive one-week program, followed by three weekends in the months of September, November, and December, four young participants immersed themselves in experiential learning, guided by Edgardo and supported by the participation and contributions of the Takiwasi therapeutic team. The training also included personal experiences with the plants through several purges, baths, ceremonies, and rituals.

The results have been very positive for both the participants and the Takiwasi team. It has been a process of reconnection with their roots, their spirituality, and their own path as men seeking healing through traditional Amazonian medicine.

Seminar for Women with Addiction Problems

In response to the numerous requests received from women interested in accessing a specialized therapeutic process, we are pleased to announce the Second Edition of the Seminar for Women with Addiction Problems, which will take place at Takiwasi in November 2026.

We propose a therapeutic process for women facing addiction/dependence issues, including ritualized use of the so-called “master plants” of the Peruvian Amazonian tradition. These practices aim to facilitate the release of emotional blockages, the renewal of vital energy, and the awakening of spiritual forces. This exploratory work is carried out within a therapeutic setting, with medical and psychotherapeutic support, in a controlled and safe environment.

It is required that participants speak Spanish or French.
